2010-07-28 21:16:43 Robert Hooker xserver-xorg-video-nouveau (Ubuntu): status Confirmed Incomplete
2010-07-28 21:17:37 Robert Hooker description Binary package hint: xorg I have used 9.10 and earlier releases on this hardware daily with no problems, but after an upgrade to 10.04 I experience the following problem once for every several hours that I use the machine. There is no specific trigger that causes it. The symptoms are that suddenly the keyboard becomes unresponsive. This includes low-level features like activation of the CapsLock indicator light, though Alt+SysRq+o is effective. I am able to move the mouse pointer, but mouse clicks have no effect. There is no corruption of the display. I am able to SSH in to the system, and when I do I notice that xorg is at 100% CPU usage. I have found nothing in any log that indicates a problem, but perhaps you will be able to do so. This is likely related to other recent bugs such as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/577236 but I have filed a separate report because my symptoms are not exactly the same as any other report. (For example, I am using neither ATI hardware nor compositing.)
