Bug Description

After booting Ubuntu 16.04.1 on an iMac G4 PowerMac6,1 the screen turns white and then black. `sudo service lightdm restart` or `sudo service gdm restart` doesn't help. I have to type the password to decrypt the root filesystem blindly.

This issue is fixed in 16.10 where the screen is turned on with black background and shows a blurry cursor. Since support for powerpc has been dropped from 17.04 on and will be continued for updates in 16.04 only, it doesn't make sense to pursue this issue any further.
