Bug Description

I just installed XUbuntu 16.06 on my laptop.
Suspend to RAM and hibernation seem to work correctly, but resuming from either of it is not actually possible because the screen remains black. Concerning hibernation, this happens with the default hibernation method as well as with TuxOnIce.

I had the same issue on an E7450 laptop. Linux rune 4.6.0-040600rc4-generic #201604172330 SMP Mon Apr 18 03:32:32 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I had upgraded the kernel, but this didn't fix the issue.

I upgraded the bios to a12, and now I can suspend and my display comes back.

Thanks for the suggestion to upgrade the BIOS. The laptop is brand new, so I did not think the BIOS would be out of date.

I did the upgrade but the problem persists. Strangely, after opening the lid, the mouse cursor appears on the login screen (the session is automatically locked when the lid is closed). After unlocking the session, it disappears as said previously.

Hi,

I had not used my laptop in a while and your message prompted me to upgrade my packages and try again with a newer version before adding more information.

The problem I described does not occur anymore now -- I tried with the latest kernel 4.4.0-30-generic and with the latest tuxonice version 4.4.0-28-generic-tuxonice.

Thank you all !

Do you still want additional debugging information ?
