Bug Description

I have a Matrox video card (01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400/G450 (rev 03)).
I don't use any restricted driver (my restricted driver manager is empty) and I didn't install any video driver after installation of Intrepid. The command "glxinfo | grep rendering" answers:"Yes" but I can't use any kind of effect.
I don't know what kind of video drivers I'm using, but when I try to play some videos (expecially higher resolution videos), vlc totem and any other video player crashes as soon as the video is loaded in.
This is a part of the output of vlc when I try to play a video:

[????????] x11 video output error: X11 request 140.19 failed with error code 11:
 BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (XVideo)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 ()
Serial number of failed request: 87
Current serial number in output stream: 88
Segmentation fault

Ok!! In vlc I've solved the problem by changing the output setting from Default to X11.
