Fwiw, several other people have reported bugs with DPMS-related issues on gm45 within the past couple weeks, so I'm suspecting there might have been a regression in a kernel introduced around that time. What I think we need is to know how people can more reliably reproduce the bug, so git bisection might become feasible.
