Bug Description

As Ubuntu Unity 11.04 did not work on Intel 865GVHZ boards...I was disappointed a bit.
Now oneric ocelot has started supporting Intel 8xx boards...That's a great news.
But still the graphics is not appealing and sometimes I see incomplete windows (Gets corrected when I drag them aside).

Kindly have a look.

Thanks,
Praveen

Just found a scenario where the above behavior could be easily replicated. Lets say we have 2 folders opened (1. external drive 2. home folder).
Now we minimize one of the folder and click on the home icon in the launcher.
This would bring up the workspace view where we have an option to select a window from current workspace or from other workspaces. If we click on the minimized window (which would be shown as a white window with home icon in center) to bring it front, it would not be loaded completely. One needs to drag the window to get this graphics issue corrected.

Thanks,
Praveen

Even am facing the same problem in 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot). Graphics on Intel 865 board is not rendered correctly.
And seems the current build is very slow compared to 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat).
I have 1.25 GB RAM and integrated Intel graphics card.

Kindly provide a fix and have a look on performance issues too.

@Karesh

Thanks for your analysis and comment. Hope this gets corrected before final release of 11.10
Even I feel that the current build is running slow though I've good enough RAM.
Anyways launchpad team may have a look and fix performance issues also.

Team,

Would these issues be fixed in current release cycle or planned for future?
Anyways I appreciate the great job you guys are being doing to make Ubuntu a top distro :)

Found the same graphics issue with launcher and the main application panel (top).
Sometimes launcher items' tool tip hovers the main application panel and leaves it rendered incompletely.

This info may help in resolving the graphics issues on Intel 8xx boards from all view points.

At times even I have come across this main panel graphics issue. Over time am feeling the Alpha 3 build is very slow and does not respond while using mapped Windows partition drives.

Great to hear things have improved with i865, but we do not provide development support for the 8xx cards any more in Ubuntu. Please file bugs to upstream directly about any issues you are seeing with it.
