Bug Description

Since upgrading to Natty, when I resume from hibernate, the display shows corruption. This didn't occur under Lucid (I don't know if it occurred under Maverick, I spent very little time using it before starting the Natty upgrade).

The amount of corruption varies, and usually only parts of the display are corrupted. I've tried combinations of minimised/maximised windows to try and narrow down which windows would be affected, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. The processes that are affected vary each time. Sometimes title bars, dialogs, etc are affected, other times only firefox tabs (but not the firefox window decorations) for example.

Logging out and back in again fixes the problem until I hibernate the laptop again.

Disabling effects (2d classic mode) still results in the same corruption.

I've seen this on my T61 Thinkpad, with Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) [8086:2a02] (rev 0c), on Natty and Oneiric both. Sometimes this happens after a regular suspend to RAM. Hibernation triggers it more often. I usually see this in various Unity interface elements (lancher tooltips, dash selected item highlighting), see e.g. attached image.

Duplicate of bug 776736, maybe? Although that one mostly talks about font corruption. And while I've seen plenty of that, I also see other things, e.g. wallpaper corruption
