Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

When I boot my eee pc the login screen loads, but when I hit enter or click on my login it is not possible to write anything into the password field. I have to resort to pressing the on/off button and reboot several times until I can write my password in and finally log in.

Is this a recent regression on natty or has it been occurring as long as you've been running natty? Did you experience this freeze in maverick?

I installed Natty when the Beta1 was released. The login freeze occured from the start, though it does not happen on every boot. I did not have any issues in Maverick.

Today I could log in after the 5th reboot. What I noticed was that the bar in the lower part of the screen does not load the times I can't login.

Same problem (Also on EEE PC 900) here. Not sure if it is a proper workaround, but I waited on the login screen, then chose 'Other' and typed my username and it didn't freeze.

Dan Scott's workaround work for me as well. Click 'Other' and then type username and password.
