Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

did a bugfix with a new kernel version yesterday (2.6.38-6.34vesafb1v1-generic-pae 2.6.38-rc7), but obviously this did not help.

I notice you're running virtualbox (there's mention of the vbox video drivers). I wonder if those are causing some sort of conflict?

Btw, did unloading vbox make any sort of difference?

I notice there have been a few other bugs reported with the same error codes as this one, but with the stock kernel. It makes me wonder if perhaps the freeze you've seen is unrelated to the freeze that the vesafb kernel solved. But it's hard to tell.

That bug I believe is ultimately due to bug 702090 which has now been fixed.

I'm going to optimistically close this one as solved as well by that fix.
