External monitor using VGA has sync issues with KMS

Using Maverick's 2.6.35-22 kernel and xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.12.0, with KMS on (these new Intel drivers have removed support for UMS), my external screen shakes when I connect it over VGA. I assume the sync is off. When I connect digitally (via DisplayPort), the external screen is fine.

The machine is a Thinkpad T410s with an i915 Intel controller.

Same situation. Thinkpad t410s, i915, external VGA display is blurred.

nomodeset didn't work for me (tried to disable KMS)

Confirmed, I have the same issue on 2.6.35-27 with xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.12.0.

I'm using Natty with kernel 2.6.38-8-generic-pae and I have the same problem. Nothing solution?

Can anyone try the patch https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=46112 ? In my custom kernel I can't boot with that patch.
