8086:3582 [i855] (Needs i915.modeset=1) Ubuntu can't boot with kernel 2.6.32-22, ok with low-graphics mode

When booting with last kernel (linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic root=UUID=e155cf1e-0c53-4da9-a11c-719227305121 ro quiet splash), Ubuntu blocks on black screen, and I need to reboot my computer via the power button.

No problem if I boot in "low graphics mode" (linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic root=UUID=e155cf1e-0c53-4da9-a11c-719227305121 ro single), or with the previous kernel (linux /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.31-21-generic root=UUID=e155cf1e-0c53-4da9-a11c-719227305121 ro quiet splash).
THis computer did not have such problem before on Karmic nor Jaunty.

@Stenten: adding "i915.modeset=1" after "quiet splash" allows to boot successfully.
