One day to go. It is unthinkable, but this bug WILL be included in the final Lucid release. This is a disaster as machines using the Intel 855GM integrated video are quite common. My Thinkpad X40 is an example: a still useful netbook alternative, with a nice and very readable matte screen. I guess it will be possible to start in recovery mode, run in failsafeX and then maybe try the 2.6.34-020634rc5-generic kernel. But how many users can do that? Is Ubuntu Linux just for geeks?
