Same problem since upgrade 10.04 beta to rc with an intel 82852/855GM graphic card with intel celeron Mobile 1.4 ghz. On blank screen kernel magic shortcut ALT PRINT SCREEN R + E + I + S + U +B for clean restart don't work.

Same problem on livecd or installed on disk.

But starting in recovery mode (for me press shift to see grub option at startup) and choose to run in failsafeX mode work fine.
