Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Two days ago I updated my Lenovo Thinkpad T500 from Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic.

Sadly I must observe that the tearing problem at least for the given graphic card is not solved; I still have it.

I read already in boards that there is a link between compiz and tearing effect; but compiz is not activated.

Hello,

Ok, here a recent update: As of today I can no longer reproduce the tearing (I think by an update this morning).

As far as I am concerned: Please do not touch the drivers anymore ;-)

Best regards!

Hello,

another update: The tearing disapears when I attach a monitor to my notebook and activate a large virtual desktop. With normal desktop the tearing is still there.

I attach my Xorg.0.log. Hope that helps.

Best regards!

This is not actually a bug, since the configuration you are using is supposed to tear.
