Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt. Thanks in advance.

affects: ubuntu → xorg (Ubuntu)
Changed in xorg (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I must apologize for answering so lately.
Please, see the above mentioned files in attachment

Note:
There where 2 files in the /var/log/Xorg. directory: xorg.0.log and xorg.0.log.old
xorg.0.log1 is a log file after 2 more failed attempts to play video and then a system restart with the xorg.conf file absent.

Will gladly provided any additionally needed information.

You are using the intrepid kernel (2.6.27-11-generic x86_64), which does not have GEM.
To play video in jaunty, you do need to use a gem enabled kernel.
Can you please test with the jaunty kernel (2.6.28-11-generic) and let us know if that works?

I've tried it with (2.6.28-13-generic) kernel and it worked just fine.

Thanks a lot for your help ;)
