Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Every now and again I run into this bug, and apologies, but it's somewhat difficult to describe. The focused window, lets say Firefox, still receives input from the keyboard, but while the mouse moves, mouse clicks fail to do anything. If I try to run another command, for example if I try to bring up gnome-do using meta-space, the window appears but I cannot type anything into it, and stays over top of the window behind it (firefox, in this case) when I focus back to that window.

This behavior continues until I restart the X server from a VT.

ii xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.6.3-0ubuntu9
2.6.30-020630rc2-generic

Through some odd combination of right clicking I can temporarily get left mouse clicking back, but this eventually subsides until I repeat the process again.

summary: - Everything slows down except focused window.
+ Left mouse clicking and window focus changes fail.

Thanks for attaching the dri_debug data, that should help.
Mind also attaching your Xorg.0.log (doesn't have to be from after reproducing the issue - just need it for module version numbers and whatnot.)

Hi Evan, I assume you've been running karmic - are you still running into this problem? If so, can you give a fresh Xorg.0.log and I'll forward it upstream.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
