Bug Description

In accordance with what is stated in bug #138256

I need to add the ForceEnablePipeA quirk on my laptop for proper sleep mode that does not crash my computer.

Model: HP 2730p

Thanks, finally works very well without crashes on lid-close or sleep, even after removing the line from xorg.conf!

The kernel part of the fix breaks external monitor support, please see https://bugs.launchpad.net/gentoo/+bug/796030

Can we please revert this patch from the kernel?

That fix has been in place for years. Lots of hardware would likely break if it was reverted.

Rather, it will need to be massaged a bit to not cause whatever issue you're seeing.
