2008-10-25 12:38:49 carsten description Binary package hint: xorg I am using a Sony Vaio VGN-CR19VN laptop on Kubuntu 8.10-rc1 with all current updates. Sometimes I see strage artefacts. They are not easy to describe so please look at the attached screenshots. The screenie shows Avogadro, but those artifacts happen also when I am using KDE composite effects, at least sometimes. In general, everything works fine. Also important, I think: When I am rotating an molecule in avogadro with the autorotation the OpenGL (it is a QGLCanvas, I think) the OpenGL canvas stays at the top of everything, it _always_ covers all other windows. I did a second screenshot for that effect. As you can see there Avogadro is _not_ the currently active window (this bugreport is) but still I see the OpenGL-Canvas of Avogadro. This is my lspci -vx. Please tell me which other information you need! 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) Subsystem: Sony Corporation Device 9015 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at fc000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 1800 [size=8] Capabilities: [90] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit- Queue=0/0 Enable- Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 3 Kernel modules: intelfb 00: 86 80 02 2a 07 00 90 00 0c 00 00 03 00 00 80 00 10: 04 00 00 fc 00 00 00 00 0c 00 00 d0 00 00 00 00 20: 01 18 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 4d 10 15 90 30: 00 00 00 00 90 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 01 00 00 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) Subsystem: Sony Corporation Device 9015 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Memory at fc100000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 3 00: 86 80 03 2a 07 00 90 00 0c 00 80 03 00 00 80 00 10: 04 00 10 fc 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 20: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 4d 10 15 90 30: 00 00 00 00 d0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 Package: firefox-3.0 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: firefox-3.0 Uname: Linux 2.6.27-7-generic i686 Binary package hint: xorg I am using a Sony Vaio VGN-CR19VN laptop on Kubuntu 8.10-rc1 with all current updates.
