Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Hello,

in the new Ubuntu Intrepid Beta there is only the Driver "intel" for the Intel-Chipsets.

In the past i had the i810 for my Notebook with i855/852 Chipset and Suspend2RAM or Suspend2Disk was working with the Option VBERestore.

Now with the new Driver the Option VBERestore doesn't work and so the Suspend2RAM, Suspend2Disk don't work. After Login the graphic crash.
The Screensaver is not working, too.

Best regards

Michael

According to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/279835/comments/1 the i810 driver has been dropped since it is no longer supported upstream. I'm not sure this was a good idea, since I have had to use the i810 driver on many computers due to bugs in the intel driver.

Since this is an X bug, you should attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old.
