Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

I am running an up-to-date intrepid installation on a Samsung Q45
on which I am experiencing crashes when playing videos -- it appears
to happen with both opengl or xv output using any common player.

At times there will just be a few glitches (green lines/rectangles)
and everything goes fine afterwards. Other times the screen will
just go blank or display garbage.

There are some other bug reports concerning intel video
but they seemed to be describing somewhat different
circumstances.

Please let me know what details I can provide that would
be helpful in tracking this problem down.
