Remember to always attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log when reporting X bugs, as there's currently insufficient info to troubleshoot.

Try to reproduce the issue using the xrandr command line tool (see 'man xrandr' for directions). If you can reproduce it, then we can report it upstream.

In order to report upstream, we need to have a publically visible bug report.

xrandr can also reproduce it. And after I run xrandr, all the mouse click and keyboard can't work at all.

Scott, as I mentioned earlier, the bug needs to be made public in order to report it upstream. Do you give permission for me to set it to public?

Thanks for making the bug public. I have forwarded it upstream here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16636

Can you please subscribe to the upstream bug report, so that if they have additional questions or need you to test something, you can get it directly from them? Thanks!

I can confirm this. I have a 965GM (rev 0c) intel card and this happens when I try to rotate the screen my secondary screen (VGA).

Can you confirm that this issue happens only when compiz is enabled?

Also can you please test it against Intrepid to see if the issue still exists in the latest code, or only on Hardy?

Heya Scott,

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

I've tested this bug with latest update from on-line, still happened with same HW:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a02] (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
 Subsystem: Dell Unknown device [1028:0298]

so could you please let me know how to track the fix progress on this issue?

[This is an automatic notice.]

We'd like to forward your bug upstream, however upstream requires
that you first test it against their newer driver code.

To save you the effort of building the driver from source, we've built
packages for the driver and its new dependencies.

So you have a couple options:

 1. Download and test .debs for intrepid, from:
     https://edge.launchpad.net/~intel-gfx-testing/+archive

 -or-

 2. Download and test the Jaunty alpha-2 (or newer) Live CD,
(which includes a beta of the new xserver 1.6 as well).
     See http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/9.04/ for ISOs

Thanks ahead of time! You can simply reply to this email to report your
findings.

P.S., if you wish to forward your bug upstream yourself, please follow
these directions to do so:
