Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Intel Santa Rosa Crestline. After installing Hardy, getting black screen instead of GDM login screen. Have tried specifying "Driver "intel" in xorg.conf, but this does not work. lspci shows the device as being:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

Bug #221179 and this one are nearly the same except of the revision. Even one of the original duplicates has revision 4 instead of 3 mentioned here. Is for every revision a separate bug report needed?

No, one bug for the pci id is sufficient and should cover all revisions.
