Hi Dan, Can you please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log? In case it might be a modeline issue, can you also test if this occurs when set to any other resolutions? If it can't be reproduced on other resolutions, it might be a modeline issue, in which case please provide your exact monitor model id.
