Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

New laptop (Gateway M6816) with Intel Core2Duo, Intel 965 chipset (x3100 graphics, Sigmatel/HDA sound, intel w3945 wifi) My native screen resolution is 1280x800. I'm experiencing this problem with Kubuntu 7.10 installed and Ubuntu 8.04a2 livecd - by default, the background will be at native resolution but the window mngr (kde or gnome) will be @ 1024x768. It appears that xorg is configuring this for dual screen output and sending the window manager output to screen "TV" which is overlayed on top of the lcd screen.

I had to google, download the intel drivers from intel, and tweak my xorg.conf file to add a tv section and disable output to it but this introduced issues with dvd playback.

Please _attach_ the Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf, don't paste them in the comment.
