Bug Description
Binary package hint: totem
using gutsy's provided compiz and an intel i915 card,
if compiz is activated and you have totem open (gstreamer backend),
when you close the laptop lid the laptop will hang completely (needs a power cycling)

Not sure it is a duplicate. I still have this bug to this day. And it does happen even without compiz actually. Clean gutsy install.

Confirmed. If totem is running and I shut the laptop lid, xserver crashes. I don't run compiz. I'm using the experimental modesetting intel driver with a 945 graphics card.

Thank you for your bug. That looks like a xorg bug. What videocard and driver do you use?
