In the exactly same situation, the bug has just happened again running 12.10 lts Precise Pangoloin (with hard shutdown and reboot needs).
Running 14.10 Utopic Unicorn the bug affected the entire whole system, even after rebooting. The desktop screen was empty without launcher nor top bar, any command avilable neither. I reinstalled 12.10 from a live usb stick (during that, a warning message allerted me about a problem to install Ubuntu Desktop), upgrading it to 14.04 lts Trusty Tahr, but a system loss of pw coerced me to a new reinstallation of 12.10, and by now i don't think to upgrade it...

Half an hour ago, I had again the same subscribed crash, Chromium browsing an MSN OutLook Webmail (account *@live.it), just before the click on button for sending a message, which i later found has been correctly sended.

Only for help <<bugs fixers>>:

a) Few minuts ago Firefox crashed twice, and i had reported it.

b) Often, while booting, i see message about not ready or not existing /tmp.

c) The LibreOffice suite was not working, i uninstalled it, then reinstalled, but still not working; now is not installed, and i see a "white shit" launcher icon (LibreOffice title appears when pointing mouse on it) which came after LibreOffice 3.5 installation even not working (LibreOffice 3.5 - Fatal Error -The application cannot be started. An internal error occurred.), which i uninstalled, from Ubuntu Software Center, in which seems not installed in spite of the icon still existing. Nor is working a try for installation of the suite dowloaded from Apache site.

Hi,

I had same issue as described above. I'm happy to report that my problem has been fixed by applying following update per
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80568#c99 on the latest kernel release. YMMV.

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
dpkg -l libgl1-mesa-dri

pino, as per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1.35). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status New. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid.

Hallo,
i'm using another pc, a desktop one, running a dual boot, both mint rebecca
CHINNAMON and ?MATE?. The old NB has a new HD with MS OS only, upgraded from XP
to 7. Once in a while i also run a not persistent live pen drive with lubuntu,
and external disks with Debian. Kubuntu, Ubuntu... with almost the last
releases installed: pretty funny, but some new bugs still left on Ubuntu
(15.04).
Sometime i receive some mails like yours: should i make any sort of change in
my status about my bug report
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1341309
since at the present moment i'm not involved in it anymore? Thank you.

Elective, unnecessary surgery on infants seems kind of crazy to me. We don't proactively remove a baby's tonsils and appendix, and those are much more likely to cause problems then a foreskin. There are supposed benefits, but most of those seem paper thin and are being exposed by people with a strong bias toward doing it. If someone is going to take a scalpel to my new born son and hack off a piece, there had better be a really good reason for it, and I just don't see the good reasons behind circumcision.

thats the point, isnt it?

if esports ever gets big enough to be picked up by some big broadcaster, and you happen to enjoy the game they are talking about, then "you were part of the movement before it was cool". thats what it comes down to, doesnt it?

tbh, i watch esports (or rather lol, since its pretty much the only esports i watch, unless thorin is on the analyst desk or casting), cause i enjoy watching it. and that should be enough, shouldnt it?

passion is vastly overvalued. its a great motivator, so long as it lasts, only problem is, once the passion dries up, you need another motivator. intellectual interest, like thorin has it, is a much longer lived motivator imo, which is why i personally prefer it.

passions come and go (unless were talking about a few select people who somehow defy this rule), but interests generally stay. i will probably (on an emotional level) never understand how you can value passion that highly...

This is my second ever project, so I am a super beginner. I have been sewing for years but just picked up crochet a month ago. When I made the first chain I measured it on his head and he insisted it was perfect. I asked him the same thing 4 chains later and a few more times after that. He insisted it was fine, but after completion, we realized it was a little too loose for him. Is there a way I can shrink is down just a bit to have a snugger fit?
It's all acrylic yarn. Will I have to worry about the white being stained?
