Bug Description

Feisty released without support for the 965GM and several new 945-derivative chipsets. This is an omnibus bug report for the purposes of tracking the SRU.

The first package on the hit-list is mesa. This patch backports support for 965GM and the G33/Q33/Q35 (and adds a few new PCI Ids.)

This also fixes a critical bug in mesa, i965G/GM would lockup intermittently with fullscreen GL.

Mesa patch is huge for SRU purposes, but looks reasonable. All affected chipsets need to be tested, though.

Please get this fixed and tested in Gutsy soon.

All issues are already basically fixed in gutsy. (Except the -i810 backport, but that will be fixed in a few minutes.)

Kyle, please upload the feisty-proposed version again with this bug number in the changelog. (See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates, point 2.1). Thank you!

I can not SRU verify this one myself (I do not have a i965 based board). We need support from the community or from the hardware verification lab. Please also test for regression on a currently supported card that runs with -intel drivers as well as testing that the new stuff works.

Thanks,
 Michael

mesa copied to feisty-updates.

I removed the verification tags again, since the two X drivers still need to be updated, and are not in -proposed yet.

Kyle, what is the status on this? Do the -intel/-i810 drivers still need updates in Feisty?
