Bug Description

This only happens with SNA (Option "AccelMethod" "sna"). Whenever screen is turned off by idling for the set idle time, it does not resume on eg. keyboard input. I need to additionally switch for example to tty1 (ctrl-alt-f1) and back to X (alt-f7) to get display back. This happens every time on my sandy bridge machine, and I remember seeing this months ago as well so it's not a new problem.

This is not bug #966744 since nothing problematic otherwise seems to be going on. I did not yet find an upstream bug reporting this.

I'm running xorg-edgers right now, on my Ivy Bridge machine, and seeing this behavior. I don't have SNA turned on in the config file (no xorg.conf), but it appears to be switched on in those builds:

Thanks.

Oh, BTW, I'm running edgers to see if bug 966744 still happens. So far I've only seen this more minor bug, so it might be one behavior or the other. Or it could be that it masks the 966744 problem, or something, so I probably shouldn't speculate, oops. Thanks.

Edward: if you can reproduce the other bug without sna at will, knowing that sna fixes it is good information for the upstream bug..

Thanks, Timo; good to know. It hasn't seemed consistently reproducible yet, but I'll try some more.

Hmm, it seems that magically maybe the last 2.20.x release fixed this for me. Which is great, of course.
