Bug Description

After a few hours of leaving laptop charging with closed lid screen goes black with pointer still visible(and moving along with the mouse/trackpad/trackpoint movements). Switching to the console(Ctrl+Alt+F1) and back(Ctrl+Alt+F7) leaves the background from last console and shows only the pointer.

Killing(Ctrl+Alt+Backspace) Xserver woks to restore full functionality.

This is consistently reoccuring with:
linux-image-3.2.0-27-generic
linux-image-3.4.0-030400-generic

This should be fixed by the xserver-xorg-video-intel in precise-proposed, instructions on how to install it before it goes into precise-updates and is installed automatically are on bug 966744
