Watching videos in Totem, Mplayer, or Kaffeine crashes X

Bug Description

I'm using the intel i810 driver and an Intel 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics controller and an updated Dapper. Probably around 25% of the time, when I try to watch a video (.avi, DVD, .wmv, etc.) on totem, mplayer, or kaffeine, I get a BSOD (black screen of death, where I'll see the "wait" cursor periodically but nothing is responsive, including ssh from another computer). If I restart, I can usually watch the same video without problems, and I've found no consistent pattern for when it does this. I've had this problem since Breezy.

Can you add the output of the
dpkg -l xserver-xorg-driver-i810
command?

Punt sustained. Thanks for pointing me to the other bug--I'll try it out, and maybe this should be marked duplicate? Looks similar. Ok, here's the output of dpkg -l xserver-xorg-driver-i810:

Yes...it's definitly a dupe of #28326!
However, X crashes only when launching a video player after a suspend-resume cycle, right?

Hmm, good question. Although I haven't noticed that it doesn't happen before suspend, 90% of the time I'm working in a post-hibernation state (since I hibernate often and reboot infrequently), so this could be the case. I need to pay attention to this to verify now that you point it out though.
