Bug Description
Whole machine freezes whilst doing nothing except running the screensaver. The
display is frozen with the last image displayed. Happens with various
screensavers. Keyboard and network dead, only possible action is to power down.
This happens at random intervals, typically after a day or two displaying
screensaver.
Symptoms are almost identical to previously reported bug 10689
https:/
(Compaq Evo D51S) as reported then. Bug 10689 was for the Warty Warthog release
and Xfree server. As advised, I upgraded to Hoary Hedgehog pre-release which
fixed the bug. However, on upgrading to the release version of Hoary Hedgehog,
the bug has returned.
Nothing in syslog file.

I get this reproducibly when playing a certain video file with Ubuntu's i810 lib/modules/ i810_drv. o), but with Alan Hourihane's latest one www.fairlite. demon.co. uk/intel. html it works perfectly. Ubuntu just
driver (/usr/X11R6/
from http://
needs to get Alan Hourihane's latest fixes.
