Just ran a second integrity check on the CD, the ISO has the correct md5sum and the CD 'check cd for defects' function reports the cd is correct.

Hi force,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` too.

lspci -vvnn ? what things are these and can it be done on desktop, no command line to me. btw Ubuntu force load vesa driver (safe graphics mode) ignores that bug and offical ati driver works.

Sorry, needs to be done from the command line. Start Terminal and type:

    lspci -vvnn

Then cut and paste what it prints out and put it in here. Sorry that there isn't a GUI way to do it. Maybe we'll make a tool for it some day.

Let's also focus this bug report just on the machine with the ATI graphics card, since it's easier to deal with one problem per bug report. Please file the other bug separately with the files.

maybe that works on 9.04 so lets wait because that was 8.10 bug. i start testing if 9.04 reaches beta.

Alright, since you'd like to wait and test 9.04 instead, I'll close this bug.

Btw, you can easily report bugs against the -ati driver via this command from a terminal window:

  ubuntu-bug xserver-xorg-video-ati

That will automatically include lspci output, log files, and other necessary information.

Also, please try to set more descriptive titles, as "display errors" is a bit on the generic side. Generic titles tend to cause other people to "confirm" unrelated bugs onto your bug report, and distract attention from your issue.
