I confirm. Radeon X1300 (RV515). Flickers every 10 seconds.

Occured with Ubuntu 10.10 installed with former /home
and Gentoo Linux on LiveCD (as distributed by http://www.sysresccd.org 1.6.2, see website for a detailled list of packages)

Another confirm. X1600 rv515. As described above, about every tenth second. I haven't timed the intervals though, I can't say that there are exact intervals, or if they are more random.
Quite annoying, nevertheless.

Same here Kubuntu 10.10 reinstalled over 10.04 version. 10.04 worked fine, now screens flickers exactly every 10 seconds.

Not only Xserver but also in console mode ...

I confirm this bug on an Asus F3Ja with Ati Radeon Mobility X1600, with Maverick 32bit.
Someone solved disabling kms in grub but this solution fail for me because X server doesn't start.

Hey ben,

Hi, have you had a chance to test if this bug is still present in natty?

If it does (and if you're the original reporter), please boot into natty
and run the command:

  apport-collect <bug-number>

which will update the bug with fresh logs and tag the bug as affecting
natty. (It is best to run this right after reproducing the problem.)

I experienced this bug too in Ubuntu 10.10 but it disappeared when I upgraded to 11.04.

So it seems to affect Ubuntu 10.10 only and is fixed in Ubuntu 11.04.
