Ati X800 GTO doesn't work

Bug Description
I tried with knot3 and 07/10/2006 dailiy live amd64 image on PENTIUM D 64bit but this card seems doesn't work starting from the framebuffer usplash.
Also booting in graphical safe mode doesn't work.
Using a vesa driver in xorg doesn't work.
Is this card supported in any way?

Vesa should probably work. Usplash was broken on amd64 at the time you reported the bug, and ati driver has the known problem of doing illegal detecting of the card (if you see the xorg.0.log ending in something like "Mach64 not detected", this's it.
What should really work as a workaround is to change "ati" to "radeon".
