Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
I booted the ubuntu 6.10 beta i386 desktop cd on my laptop toshiba M40-281, graphics card is a ATI x700. The cd boots, but both standard and graphics fail safe mode end up with a blank screen, I hear the new sounds and everything but I don't see anything. The screen has a native resolution of 1280x800.
I filed the bug under xorg because I couldn't find a better package.

Booting in single mode, if I use the xorg.conf attached and then ctrl+alt+backspace, the screen is no more blank and I can use the system! Maybe you need to change the default xorg.conf for my hardware
