Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

I am running Karmic (gnome) with an ATI Radeon x300 PCIE and two Dell LCDs. My screen is setup as "Virtual 3600 1200" in xorg.conf.

Some application UI elements go missing if placed too far on the right monitor. They re-appear if I drag the application window to the left of this magic line (~2600px from the left edge of the overall virtual desktop, ~1/2 way across my right screen).

Examples - tooltips in OpenOffice, text in some wine apps, some icons in gnome system notification area.

I was previously running the ATI proprietary driver under Jaunty with the same Xorg setup and had no problems. I was forced to switch to "xserver-xorg-video-ati" as ATI have dropped support for this card under their driver.

Please let me know if I can supply further info. I will attach my xorg.conf.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
