Notification is box with lines

When notification is displayed it is a box with lines. The color of the box and the color and number of lines seems to be related to the theme being used. This first occurred after I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 RC1.

jtholb, can you please post the output of "lspci -v" as an attachment to this bug-report. Or tell me what GPU and driver you are using? Your described problem looks very much like a driver-bug with the ati-video-driver for Xorg. Should that be the case you'll be able to work around that, but using the newer acceleration-method EXA, instead of XAA.

For reference - remember I'm just assuming here your machine has an ati GPU and you're victim of this particular bug - see LP: #429295

You were correct in your assumption. It's an older thinkpad with an ATI mobility GPU and so I changed the acceleration method to EXA and things look great as ever--I'll be sure to dig a bit more through other bugs next time. Thanks a ton for the help.

Hm... for some reason I don't know, I'm not able to reassign this to "xserver-xorg-video-ati", to which the bug correctly belongs, now that user jthold, confirmed to be using an ATI GPU. Once that reassigning (hopefully) works again, this bug also needs to be marked as duplicate of LP: #429295.
