Yes, "Unhandled monitor type 0" is quite familiar to me also. My errors are exactly the same.

The crashes are quite sporadic. But I noticed that when the screen goes black the network goes down too, however when the screen just freezes, I can still ssh from another machine and reboot the box safely.

But in both cases the keyboard does not respond.
