Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

On most suspend screen is corrupted after resume. Sometimes it works the first time but in general the corruption appear.

X is usable normally but even the text console shows corruptions and a X restart doesn't help.

Compiz is enabled.

The regdump was saved with the command "radeontool regmatch '*' > regdump_good.txt" before and after suspend/corruption.

Hi unggnu,

I notice you have an AGP system... Does it help if you try some different AGPMode values? (1,2,4,8)
Please check https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Quirks#ATI%20AGP%20Mode%20Quirk and report back if it helps.

I would like to test it but atm I have no access to the system. I post it as soon as I am able to test or let it test.

So I have rechecked the issue in current Karmic and it seems to be fixed. There seems to be another problem with wrong colors in Firefox but I guess this is something else.

Ok, I was too fast. The problem is still there, it mostly happens after a longer suspend, several minutes, that's why I thought it worked.

I have tested the agp modi 1,2 and 4 and it doesn't helped either.

One time the screen corruption even stay after a reboot. I had to power down the system to get rid of it.

This seems to be fixed in Ubuntu 10.04 Alpha. Since the fix has probably something to do with the usage of kms and a new driver SRU wouldn't apply.
