Hi,
I am glad that we are getting somewhere after walking in darkness for almost 6 weeks.
After I have read bug report #371279 and upstream bug report #21598 I doubt that this bug is an exact duplicate.
The main reason why I believe this is that in 371279 and in upstream option XAA can be used to avoid the freezes.
- Note: This bug goes away completely when you set "DRI" "off".
+ Note: This bug goes away completely when you set "DRI" "off" or if you
+ use "AccelMethod" "XAA".
However Wolfgang has reported that using XXA will also result in crash (black screen) and I can confirm that on my system.
Therfore I am not very sure if this really is a duplicate?
But well I hope we will figure it out :-)
..and please fix it in Jaunty too, otherwise I will probably go back to windows a third time...and I really dislike that idea...
