Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
When attempting to either load gdm, or run startx from the command prompt, X fails to start. I first noticed this problem a week ago, after installing updates, and at the time thought something else was broken.
After a fresh install this morning, and downloading all updates, I still get the same failure.
This is on a Mac Mini G4, 1.42Ghz, with a Radeon 9200, 32MB video ram, running kernel 2.6.22-12.39 for powerpc, non-smp.
Below, I have attached my xorg.conf, the contents of /proc/fb, a copy of the X log file from /var/log, generated by using the startx command, and the relevant section of info from running lspci -vv, and a list of currently loaded modules. |

Since the mac mini only has a DVI connector, I am using it with a DVI to VGA converter, that came with the mini. It is connected to a 4-port KVM, which is not DDC capable, i.e, the KVM does not send DDC/resolution probing signals through to the monitor.
