Bug Description

I have upgrade my gutsy linux box today updating this packages:

x11-common_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_i386.deb
xbase-clients_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_all.deb
xorg_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_i386.deb
xserver-xorg_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_all.deb
xserver-xorg-core_2%3a1.3.0.0.dfsg-12ubuntu5_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-input-all_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-video-all_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_i386.deb
xserver-xorg-video-ati_1%3a6.7.192-4ubuntu1_i386.deb
xutils_1%3a7.2-5ubuntu10_all.deb

after that when I play a video with totem and xv output and switch the desktop with the "Desktop wall" plugin of compiz, xorg crashes.

i couldn't reproduce this bug, with or without "desktop effects" activated, could you please try to reproduce this with "no desktop effects" and attach your xorg logfile.

With desktop effects, this is the logfile

I will try reproduce this bug without effects.

I can't reproduce this bug without effects, but it always happens when I change the desktop with any pluging (cube, desktop wall,..) and a video is playing with totem or mplayer using xv as output.

And it always gets the same backtrace:

If cannot be reproduced without compiz running, the most probable thing is that xserver-xorg-video-ati isn't the one to blame, i think this is compiz fault but i'm not quite sure, i'm gonna investigate a little more before changing the package.

Could you please check if with today's xserver-xorg-video-ati upgrade the issue is still present?

I can reproduce this crash. I've an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and I'm using the ati driver (xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.7.193-1ubuntu1) on amd64.
It only happens when compiz is running. If I set the video output to Xv using gstreamer-properties and start the test video output (any other video should do it also) and rotate the cube, X crashes. When doing the same but with non-Xv video output set in gstreamer-properties it doesn't crash.
