Bug Description

CID: 201305-13624 HP Pavilion 14

With the open-source driver or the proprietary fglrx-update driver (2:13.350.1-0ubuntu2) on this I+A system, there is no HDMI audio output available.
Even adding the "radeon.audio=1" parameter to grub still can't make it work.

Verified with the latest 14.9 Catalyst driver (release date 9/29/2014), there is still no HDMI audio output here.

Note that this issue could be platform related, since the HDMI works well both with / without proprietary driver on a Dell AIO 201305-13670

@PHLin

Can you test with the latest oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms from the PPA https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ubuntu/alsa-daily?

Hello Anthony,
This issue still exist even tested with the latest oem-audio-hda-daily-dkms - 0.201411191501~ubuntu14.04.1 from the PPA .

However, I found out that this issue is identical to bug 1383997, the detection works with power source plugged.
And adding the following entry into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf could make it work without power source plugged:
"options snd-hda-intel jackpoll_ms=500"

Thanks
