Bug Description

Since the upgrade to Kubuntu 13.10 Xorg crashes during startup unless I deactivate Modesetting support in grub. I am using the free radeon driver (not the proprietary one).

The lspci output for the graphics card is:

Just as a comment "apport-collect" is nearly useless if the x-server is not working, because it use a browser to generate the o-auth token.

I filed an upstream bug ( https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72192 ) and got the answer that the bug was fixed in Mesa 9.2.2.

Any chance to get these fixes for (K)Ubuntu 13.10 ?
