Seems to be the same problem as Bug #1167018.
The display errors disapear as you disable blur option in unity

According to https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=35eecf052250f663f07a4cded7d3503fd1b50729 and https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35457 this bug is finally fixed in the upstream 3.13-rc5 kernel. A PPA of this kernel is available at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and instructions on how to install and uninstall it are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds

Alexis Guerrero, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

The fix I mentioned in comment #6 is now also available in the upstream 3.12.7 kernel.
