Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
Vertical edge-scrolling is very unreliable. Works fine for the first scroll, then stops working. Sometimes, by trying to scroll in the very right edge of the touchpad, I get it to scroll, but not always (maybe I can't always touch the very right edge).

Any update on this yet? I have this exact issue with Synaptics touchpad. I can confirm the synaptics driver is loaded and synclient -l shows VertEdgeScroll=1. If I change the value of RightEdge=5192 to RightEdge=5300, the vertical scrolling works again for a short (less than 1 minute) while.
This issue combined with the disabled tap-clicking (by design from what I infer) makes for a much less usefull touchpad experience.
