Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
I have a laptop with a bug: when moving the touchpad and hitting multiple times the caps-lock key, the touchpad device loses sync, and then it "reconnects".
the driver is not capable of managing the disconnection, so the touchpad works like a normal mouse (no scroll, different sensibility) after this happens.
I can see these lines in the kernel log file:
psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/
psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/
psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/
psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/
psmouse.c: TouchPadat isa0060/
psmouse.c: issuing reconnect request
Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1, fw: 6.3, id: 0x1a0b1, caps: 0xa04713/0x200000
input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /class/
The Windows driver is smarter, and when this happens the synaptics touchpad can still be used normally
