gnome mouse settings don't affect touchpad configuration

Bug Description

When setting mouse speed and acceleration in gnome-mouse-properties this does not affect the touchpad settings, but I think it should. Where else would I set my touchpad speed?

Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug.
