Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-mouse

On my Sony PCG-R505EL Laptop, once the scroll wheel moves up or down, it will not stop scrolling up or down. The only other reference to such a problem that I can find is here: http://www.progbox.co.uk/wordpress/?p=533#comment-118007

This seems to be a problem only in Hardy. It did not happen in Gutsy, and if I boot from the Gutsy Live CD, it does not happen.

I'm having the same issue on Hardy with a Sony PCG-R505DL.
Any details I can post that might be handy?

Oddly enough, it isn't an issue with the 'vertical scrolling' on the touchpad.

I have ended up crazy gluing the scroll wheel so it doesn't move, and
just using the vertical scrolling.

Just found a solution.

it looks like sonypi handles the scrolling correctly, but sony-laptop doesn't.

blacklisting the sony-laptop module fixes it.
