Bug Description

Hi I have a NVidea GeForce 2 MX 100/200 video card running a KTX BM17E 17" monitor
(its a known trouble maker in old windows) ANyways I have tryed to install Ubuntu
about 10 times and every time I got a Xserver error and it stating it was shutting
xserver down. I managed to play around with the refresh rates in recover as regular
boots just show some riting on default black screen and actualy could see the error
on main boot once. My Win Xp config actualy detects my monitor as a Bridge BM17C wich
has simular specs.I did manage to get into the logs right off of the xserver error im
getting screens detected but none have a usable configuration. In the log I got 2
errors of the res reports
 Bad mode clock/Interlace/doublese$
and
is larger than Biosy programmed panel size of 1X1.

Also I can not seem to access my floppy, Im a total Linux Newb and read some linix
commands for floppys on the web (very scarce by the way) and cant seem to get it
working either doing it wrong or the floppy is brocken to. I like to know if this is
a known issue or should I buy a new monitor lol. I want my Ubuntu and I want it
now! :)

This worked. I have a new 19" viewsonic monitor and a new gforce mx4000 and it set
up real nice and I must say Linux looks better than XP.

Thanks for the report.

Is this still an issue for you if you try to install a copy of Ubuntu Dapper?

No idea, that machine is defunct.
